Counting Blessings – #007: What’s New With You? (Did you know God moves in different ways?)
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. – Isaiah 55:8
Then I remembered what the Bible says: that the world is becoming more evil.
My heart has felt uneasy these past few days, causing me to feel stressed for no clear reason. Spending less time scrolling on social media has helped me get back on track.
I'm grateful because, in moments like these, I turn to God in prayer. I ask the Lord to give me peace and calmness in my heart and mind as I surrender everything into His hands. I always go back to the truth that God is in control.
I'm glad because God is always there. He is ever-present and ready to help. So whenever I feel anxious or overcome by sudden fear from all the bad news around me, I know exactly what step to take next. It still takes courage for me to keep showing up, but God gives me strength each day.
God truly works all things together for good for His children.
Every Saturday, we have a morning prayer, or Dawn Watch Prayer Meeting, held virtually. I'm so grateful because God has given me this kind of family in faith. Even though I'm younger than most of them, I still get to share my prayer concerns and requests with them.
Aside from that, I also get to hear the Word of God shared by my brothers and sisters in Christ. This morning's topic was truly timely.
It's a reminder for me that even Christians struggle with anxiety and fear at times. But the difference is that we can find peace, true peace, that can only be found in Jesus, our Prince of Peace.
I'm happy to share this with you too!
The world's peace is temporary but Jesus' peace is eternal.
The world's peace depends on calm circumstances; God's peace depends on a calm heart.
This truth is what keeps me going. I truly need Jesus.
And this is my brothers and sisters in Christ encouraging and praying for one another.
I'm grateful because through their testimonies, God keeps reminding me how great He is and how good He has been to His children.
And if you're like me, I pray that God's peace, which surpasses all understanding, will come to you. I pray that God will encounter you, especially in those moments when you feel anxious or afraid, even of the things you find hard to share. May you also experience the eternal peace that this world can never replace. In Jesus' name, Amen. π€ππ»
John 16:33
I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.
peace. love. joy.
