Counting Blessings – #005: What’s New With You? (Did you know God moves in different ways?)

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. – Isaiah 55:8

Alam mo ba? I got my very first hardbound Bible! Yay! πŸ™ŒπŸ» 'Yung ako talaga 'yung pumili 😊

In our Church, we're often reminded that it's still better to have a physical Bible with us, aside from the Bible app on our phones.

I do have the Bible on my phone. It's accessible and convenient, especially with so many translations available. But the downside for me is I get distracted whenever notifications pop up, and so on...

This has been on my list for a while, but I kept buying other things, in other words, it wasn't really a priority. And now... the Holy Spirit is convicting me 🫠

I bought some personal things, yet I couldn't buy one Bible for myself. Woah! 🀯

Sometimes it's the small nudges from the Spirit that lead to the most meaningful steps. Grateful for this one. πŸ“–✨

Thankfully, when our DBS group started, our mentor began reminding us that it's better to have a physical Bible. He didn't require us to buy one, but he did encourage us to have one. :) We need it for our care group.

On September 14, 2025, I finally got one! I also bought a few things for my personal devotion and Bible reading, as you can see here 😊:

This is a CEV (Contemporary English Version) translation. I still use the Bible on my phone for other versions, but now that I've started using a physical Bible, it honestly feels so new to me.

I've come to appreciate it more, especially when reading the letters of Apostle Paul (like Ephesians, Philippians, Thessalonians, etc.). It amazes me, it really feels like receiving a personal letter from someone and reading it word for word.

And there's a big difference between reading the Bible on your phone and reading a physical copy.

I appreciate the Word even more now.

I've come to realize that the Bible isn't just about God's promises — it's so much more than that. πŸ’›
If you're curious, go ahead and check it out for yourself! 😊 You can start with the book of John in the New Testament. :)

I'm thankful to God for helping me grow in reading His Word. But just to be real , I'm not "there" yet. It's still a process, and I know it's a journey I have to take one step at a time.

And if you're looking for something fresh in your Bible reading, especially if you've only been reading on your phone, maybe it's time to try a physical Bible too! :)

Above all else, what matters most is how we truly live out God’s Word in our daily lives.

peace. love. joy.
