Counting Blessings – #002: What’s New With You? (Did you know God moves in different ways?)

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. – Isaiah 55:8

I've been working in the corporate world for 5 years—3 years in my previous job, and now I'm in my second year at my current company.

I started my first job in March 2020, shortly after graduating in December 2019. Looking back, I can truly say that God provided for me and my family. That was also the same month we experienced the lockdown due to the pandemic.

Fast forward to the present, I'm grateful for God's favor in my life. Sometimes I want to think, "It's just a coincidence," but there are no coincidences or accidents with God. I'm truly thankful to the Lord for allowing me to meet such amazing people in my life.

🫢🏻

This is the second time I've been referred to a job. Pero here's the kwento: before leaving my previous work, I had already started looking for a new job due to personal reasons. Then one of my friends reached out and asked me to help her because she had a friend whose company was hiring at the time. Long story short, my friend ended up referring me to her friend.

During that time, I simply prayed to the Lord, if it was His will for me to get that job, then let it happen naturally, without me forcing anything. I still remember the exact words of my prayer:
"Lord, if it's Your will, makakapasok po ako rito. Magiging smooth lang po ang lahat. If hindi po, okay lang din po baka may ibang work na mas okay for me."

And here I am! God answered my prayer! I'm still overwhelmed as I share this. I don't even know why 🫠

I'm grateful for God's favor because, for the second time, I've met the kind of people God uses to teach me in different aspects of life. I also remember thinking on my first day at my current job about how I could share the gospel with them—what I should do, what steps to take. But God made me realize that it really starts with me—by building genuine relationships with them, without any hidden agenda to share the gospel πŸ˜….

Parang may masabi ako na nakapag-share ako ng gospel sa kanila. πŸ˜…

I only truly learned this in my second year here—specifically in 2025.

God also reveals areas in my life that need change through these people. I'm so grateful for how He's using them, and I'm thankful for their lives.

Last February 2025, I had the chance to share the gospel in the form of a letter. It was also an appreciation letter for them. And guess what?

They found out it was from me! πŸ˜† My original plan was to keep it anonymous, but they figured it out, because I was the only one who hadn't received a letter. πŸ˜‚

Well... next time! πŸ˜†

That was definitely one of my most unforgettable moments this year. 😊

"We're not just a team—we're like family." I got this message from one of my bosses. It was during a time when I thanked her for guiding me in my work and this was her response. God has blessed me for the second time with a leader like her.

I don't know how to fully explain it, but I truly believe this is God's favor in my life.

Even though I'm still in the adjustment phase at my current job, I'm grateful for each day that God continues to teach me through the people around me. He's teaching me to grow, to excel in what I do, and to be a good steward and a good neighbor to those I work with.

He also reminded me of this:
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.
(Colossians 3:23)

Yes, God is my ultimate Boss and I work for Him.
But that doesn't mean I should neglect what He has entrusted to me.

My prayer is that I may represent the Lord Jesus well in my life, especially in the workplace where He has placed me.

I know God is still working on me, and He keeps revealing areas in my life that need growth πŸ˜…. But I trust that He's not done yet.

And I know He'll do the same for you, too.
Remember, God can use anything for our growth. 🌱
